i have to replace the dvdrw on my wifes HP pavilion a1310n desktop, it came with a lightscribe enabled TS-H552L/HPAH DVDRW which i dont think ever worked as anything but a reader (when you try to write a disk cd or dvd it dosent recognise this drive as a burner, just a reader). i have called hp and was told that i would have to pay for the help desk call (not gonna do that) and i have tried thier online chat, which he just had me remove and reinstall the drivers, this did not help. i have been looking on the web and it seems to be a wide spread issue with this drive and hp nor the manuf had released a solution i have been able to find…therefore i am in the market for a good, not to expensive DVD r/rw . thanks in advance for the help
Check out the new Liteon, Samsung and Pioneer DVD burners at Newegg.com. All three are building some good new drives. Check out the reviews and personal opinions on them in the CD_DVD Burner forum on this site.
