I just over burned some CompUSA 4X CDRWs

The capacity of these discs is suppose to be 650MB but I managed to overburn it to 716MB, how viable was this really?

I mean at first it was able to maintain a steady 4X all the way to 674.7MB and then between 0.1X-1.7X from then on, all the way to the size of the ISO I created, which was 716MB. I tried burning this in nero and it failed, so I created an ISO and had alcohol 120% burn it alcohol claims that it recorded successfully. But 716MB out of 656MB discs? Has anyone experienced anything like this? Seems odd to be able to overburn this much. Forgot to mention that it’s a plasmon disc from 1999.
