I have taped over my Sister-in-law's wedding

My sister-in-law asked me to video her wedding so I accepted, It was the happiest day of her life,
When I went to put what I had recorded on to a DVD, it had dawned on me that I had accidentally recorded over her wedding with my holiday (foolishly I had used the SAME camcorder tape)

Can some please help me, I need to see if what I have taped over (the wedding) is lost for ever!!!

Kind Regards

As far as I know when you record over a recording the origional recording is erased and the new is recorded so the origional is lost forever (at least this is true for VCRs) Sorry

Here is some more information for ya, I think you can understand the feasibility of what you are asking behind what it is telling you.
