I have a burning error also

I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. I checked the “compatible media” list for my drive (DUW1616/ARR) and it shows Maxell DVD-R (CMC MAG.AE1) as compatible…of course that probably doesn’t mean anything. Thanks.

Update Nero, use better and supported media.

Nero warned me that it was about to burn in multisession, but urged me to turn it off, so I thought I did. Apparently not. How can I tell good media by just looking at the package.

you cant really, you just have to test out a few media brands before you find ones that give you good consistent burns. but stay away from the cheap brands like laser and princo, they have a habit of failing

Okay, I just updated Nero from 6.3.1.23 to 6.6.1.4. I still can’t burn. Is my media a problem with Nero or with my burner? I ask because this media hasn’t been a problem with other software…like Power Producer and DVD Decrypter. Just with Nero it seems.

Also: I just installed seom ASPI drivers for windows thinking that would help…but guess not.

You need to go back to .18 if you can find it! Nero has been redesigned to not work with Shrink after .18! Of course you can use FABDVD or ANYDVD for decrypt and FABGOLD or CLONE2 to copy disks!
Data disks should not be an issue at all with any version of Nero!
I assume you are UMDA2 in device manager, master, although it should work fine as a slave. I had two of these units that worked fine, but not since I bought my CMC media!
Set your burn spped for 8X for CMC! I have a ton of that stuff and it burns very nice at 8X! Increase your Nero Buffer settings to max!

Sense Key: 0x04 (KEY_HARDWARE_ERROR)

That doesn’t look good.
