Huge scary spike

Hi all, I’ve just burned my first DL disc (damn, they’re expensive!) and I got this in my KProbe quality check result:

The text output is:
Model : 7-0-0-0 F:LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-1635S YV6J
Disc : DVD+R DL , MKM001 [Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation]
Speed : 1x
ECC blocks sum (PI/PIF) : 8/1
Scanned range : 0 - 4137106
Sampling count : 241962
Errors : 65
PI Max : 153
PI Average : 6.89
PI Total : 209091
PIF Max : 52
PIF Average : 0.11
PIF Total : 3219

I know I’m not supposed to pay attention to spikes, but this one is much larger than the ones I usually get… Is it still not important, or do I have to throw away the disc and reburn another of those (pricey!) DL discs?

Run a transfer rate/Read test and see if you have any drops in read speed, if you have none and the read curve is smooth then the disc is more than likley ok.

Also you should scan @4x with a LiteOn,
not 1x.

Or even 8x on a 1635S. The 1x scan will be more accurate but 4x or 8x scanning gives decent results & obviously takes far less time.
