I usually stick to TYs, but I just bought a Epson R200, so now I’m looking to buy hub printable DVD+Rs. I haven’t been able to find any 8X DVD+R TYs that are hub printable.

Does anyone know of where I can buy them?
If they don’t exist, can anyone recommend what the next best hub printable 8X DVD+R would be (i.e Ritek G02/03/04, Verbatim, etc.)?

Checkout rima.com. They carry a lot of TY media and may stock some high quality printable stuffs.

So far, only -R have been spotted that are hub-printable. Rima sells them.

I have been using the Verbatim 94812 Hub Printable DVD+R nd printing on my Epson R800. They work great. I am also waiting for TY hub printable DVD+R

#5

So far, it does not exist.
I also hope they will introduce some as this is one of the best media.

they exist - but only in japan (i´ve been told by a supplier in germany that TY will deliver these disc only if he would order a big lot of >36.000 discs in 100er spindles)

There is very little printable TY DVD+R media in Japan (I think Landport is the only shop that carries it) and it is not hub-printable. DVD+R spindles are very rare in Japan, and all the That’s DVD+R retail packages are Ceramic Coat discs, not inkjet printables.

I too was looking for TYG +R in hub printable and gave up on the search and went with the TYG02-R that are hub printable.
I originally only bought them for my daughter’s player but after running a check on the discs thru DVDInfoPro which shows that these discs are booktyped as a DVD-ROM instead of just a DVD-R I can use them in all my players.

I seriously doubt those discs in the ebay link are Taiyo Yuden discs; they just seem to be using the TYG02 media code for compatibility.

I’m new to burning DVDs. The reason I was looking for DVD+Rs was so that I could set the book type to DVD-ROM for improved DVD player compability. I thought that only DVD+R could have the book type set to DVD-ROM.

So these TY DVD-Rs are already set to DVD-ROM? Would this make them just as compatible (theoretical compatibility) with DVD+Rs that are burned with the book type set to DVD-ROM?

Sorry, I feel like an idiot. :o …Forgot I had clone cd installed and it had the hide CDR function turned on which masked the booktype from the system to read as dvd rom instead of dvd-r.
I still am able to use these discs in my positive machine when I burn them with my drive from micro advantage (16x8 dual layer). I have the + discs set to change to rom booktying.
I can’t use them when I burn them on my sony DRU 540a.
Please forgive my ignorance.

Humm,

I would suggest to buy MCC 003 (verbatim).
8x, +R and hub printable.

You should be fine with these.
