hi great review, i have the model hp dvd1070d/i, how did you upgrade the firmware as i cannot find anything on there web site, and the cd given to me has only nero oem on there.

I purchased this drive thinking I could burn DVDs with the included software. It turns out you need to spend another $70 for software to make it work. I am going to return it. Imagine if you bought a car and afterward they told you that you had to buy the keys for $1000 more if you want to drive it. :frowning:
