BTW:I once installed Spybot on a Circuit City Computer that was connected to Broadband i figured being connected to BB For so long without protection there must be a ton of spyware i was right but it was not from some porn or sleaze site they were all from HP It was an HP Computer. There were a lot of s**t on there.:frowning: :r

I guess (hope) that the 530i is just a rebadged NEC 2510 just like the 520i which was never really seen, but we have the firmware of this drive :d The 630i may be a rebadged NEC 3100/3500 drive.

will these drives include that laser etching technology where it can burn a picture on the other side of the disc? Then it would be interesting especially if you can use a NEC firmware on it.

Here are the product specs of the DVD530i and here is a small picture. It looks like a Lite-On so I think you can forget to see any bitset capable HP firmware updates to your NEC writer :wink:
