are good media or not?

HP invent - 48X - CR00022

Manuf: CMC Magnetics Corp.
“Made in China”.
Pthalocyanine

BenQ All Speed

Hi again,

I would greatly appreciate if some could tell me if
the HP-48x-MadeInChina or BenQ CDs are Recomended
for my LiteONs 52x24x52x and 40x12x48x drives?

Thanks in advance

Bosco

Both will work well, but I’d use those Benqs more… longevity seems to be better.

Thanks for your fast reply!

So, you think that the BenQ CDs manufactured in Malaysia
by Acer Media Tech Inc. are better and will last longer?

I also have found that some philips and sony have
the same ATIP:

97m 22s 67f

Are all the same Media with different brand names?

Best Regards

Bosco

HP badged CMC media is usually CMCs’ “grade A” discs.

#6

Yes… Sony and Philips both source from Acer/Daxon, IIRC.

Thanks Bhairav and wesociet !!

You mean that HP CDs made by CMC media is
“grade A” discs?

I was a little worried because the HP CDs are
not made in Taiwan or Japan…

The HP 50pack only say “Made in China”

Thanks for your help!!

Regards

Bosco

HP “Made In Japan” 24X… TYs! They’ve stopped going to TY though, these CMCs should be okay.

#9

If that is the case, I don’t think they are CMCs.

Hi wesociety

Maybe you are right, but CDR Media Identifier v1.63,
detects them as CMC:

ATIP: 97m 26s 66f
Manuf: CMC Magnetics Corp.
Pthalocyanine

The HP 50pack external label only say:

37668 10014 0
CR0002
“Made in China”

I just bought 2 50 packs of hp discs, @52x

Both say croo032 Made in Taiwan. So far, they burn great on my 32x liteon.

I also get

ATIP: 97m 26s 66f
Manuf: CMC Magnetics Corp.
Pthalocyanine

What is the significance of ATIP…what does it mean and what ‘number’ are good or bad…???

Thanks.

ATIP = Absolute Time In Pregroove… the way to identify a disc. Each disc manufacturer has a separate ATIP for themselves, and those numbers help in the identification process.
