HP 1040E 20X external CD/DVD lightscribe drive

I’m looking for a DVD RW drive that I can move around and use on different PCs for recording films to DVD and general storage.

I was wondering if anyone had used a HP 1040E 20X external CD/DVD lightscribe drive and had and feedback to give on what they are like.

Maybe there is another drive out there that would suit me better?

Thanks

they are lite-on drive. You can get a liteon drive and buy your own external case, much cheaper. Under HP brand, you have to pay way over $100 for an external version. You can get a liteon drive for around $40 shipped or less from newegg and go to www.dealsonic.com and get yourself an external case. Very easy to assemble and some external cases are tool-less design. And if you want an exact drive like HP, look for liteon 20X burner with lightscribe. And by the way, since it is a liteon drive, you can read about this drive in the liteon forum, very decent drive
