Furthermore I often use DVDdecrypter to rip the DVD’s to an iso , that I mount on a virtual drive and process from there.
I don’t remember if the DVD’s would play in the Plex (they most likely would), but in my standalone there would be picture dropouts and sometimes the picture would freeze completely. My standalone is capable of playing DVD-R’s burned at 4x, just not the one’s I’ve made with my Plex. I’ve also tried the DVD’s in other standalone players, and the same thing happened, so I don’t think that it’s my standalone that is the problem.
I’m not very impressed by Plextors way of handling these kinds of problems. Two months ago I mailed them about some problems with the Premium gigarec function and I still got no answer. So I don’t really think they feel obligated to deal with such matters. However I must say; they’ve got an outstanding RMA service.
Just to ensure myself that I’ve got a problem; I’ll try to reproduce it, today or tomorrow. This time I’ll use Nero 6.302 and DVD Shrink 3.14. I’ll burn it at 4x (I know I’m stubborn) using Nero’s DVD-Video Profile.
I’ll be back.
