How to Thread A Reply Properly

OK, stupid question(s).

  1. Is quoting the only way to put my reply to a poster under that poster’s note?

  2. Is there a way to see the date of a post while reading the post. All I see is time since posted (12 minutes ago, 1 week ago, etc.)

Thanks,

Yep.
If you don’t use quote, the text will only remain in the original post. Quoting is especially useful when you only want to reply to part(s) of a post (or a particular post in a thread) and want to prevent misunderstandings in this respect (people will always know what you are replying to, no need for guessing)

After a few days, the date will appear (this “posted <so long> ago” will go back to 7 days I believe, after that the posting date appears).
