win xp tab ed on thinkpad x41 t; nero 6 burning rom [ultra ed]
I’m trying to burn a bootable install disc for winxp tab ed via a forum tutorial so that I can do a clean install on my tablet pc. I’ve extracted a boot image from my winxp sp2 install cd using bart’s boot image extractor which gave me a .bin file. To burn a dvdrom [boot] disc I need to enable expert settings on the boot tab in order to choose no emulation. Then I also need to choose a setting for Load segment of sectors (hex!), which has a default value of 07C0, and for Number of loaded sectors, which has a default value of 1.
I can’t find any info on these settings in the nero manual or googling.
From another tutorial [on slipstreaming] I’ve also extracted a boot image from my winxp sp2 install disc using isobuster - microsoftcorporation.img. It has instructions for the nero expert settings - the default value of 07C0 for Load segment of sectors and a value of 4 for Number of loaded sectors.
Can someone provide some info on these settings and different types of boot image files - bin, img, iso?
