I was trying to read a message sent to me several months ago because I need some information from it. I went to the .pst folder for archived emails but I cannot open it. Is there any way to do that? Can I access to the old mail?
Generally the way I open an archive in Outlook 2007 is as follows:
In Outlook, go into File -> Open -> Open Outlook Data File and then open the PST archive file. Then go into the ‘Go’ menu and select “Folders list”. This archive should then appear in the Mail Folders list on the left.
I did everything you told me but I don’t see the mesages on the left…
Hmm, seems as if the archive has gone blank.
One other thing you can try is import the messages into a new folder in your current profile:
[li]Create a new folder in Outlook and open this.
[/li][li]Go into File menu -> Import and Explort…
[/li][li]Select “Import from another program or file” and click ‘Next’.
[/li][li]Select “Personal Folder File (.pst)” and click ‘Next’.
[/li][li]Browse to the PST file and open it, select “Do not import duplicates” and click ‘Next’.
[/li][li]Select the folder containing the message you’re looking for (or Inbox if not sorted into folders).
[/li][li]Tick “Import items into the current folder” and click ‘Finish’.
Is this .pst file on your machine or on a network?
It’s in my computer…
When I go to: C:\Users\Abdel\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
I see two folders:
archive.pst 265 KB and
Outlook.pst 771,93 KB
I supose that the first one is what I want. Isn’t it too small?
I’m using Windows 7 and Outlook 2007
