How to get sound from 2 cd drives?

I have 1 cd rom drive and 1 dvd dual format on my computer. I have the analog sound hooked up to the cd rom drive. (from the drive to the motherboard.) The computer has integrated soundmax.

If I hood up my dvd dual format drive to the mother board via the digital hookup, will it cause system instability?

If so, what is the best way to get sound out of my dvd dual format drive?

The OTHER Tempus!!!

If you are running Windows 2000 or XP you can go to Device Manager, right click on the DVD drive, select Properties then click on the Properties tab and click “Enable CD digital audio”. This will alow audio transfer through the IDE cable and you do not have to use the analog cable.

Thx again

Have both analog & digital CD audio cables running thru my CD drives under Win 98, only had to alter the Soundblaster settings (under audio HQ), but definitely no instability/conflicts.

I think I will give it a try and see what happens
