How to get my 411s@811s to burn "CMC MAG F01" at 8x with nero 6.3?

OC-Freak, are these CMCs burning consistently with good quality at 8x? (question is have you been burning a bunch of them?:slight_smile: )

Also, have you hacked your 411@811 fw and burned these discs at 8x with that drive yet? If so, please post scans :bigsmile: TIA

Edit: also 1 more question for OC, are you going to advise your LiteOn contact of these great results when burning CMC F01 @8x ? Maybe they would officially add 8x writing to these discs in the next firmware?

I think some older batches of those revision 0 discs is not so good = Lite-On will not officially write them at 8x.

Revision 1 should be more or less only good discs = supported at 8x.

Nope, only tested 1 disc, nope not tested on overclocked drive. Don’t want to waste many of these discs as they are damn expensive here.

Costs more than Taiyo Yuden and Mitsubishi for example…

How do you tell the revision number?

I have successfully burnt 5 of these, and 3 had serious spikes near the end… but they were getting better, so I did a 4th and that turned out decent. My 5th is scanning now.

Hmmm, I didn’t do as well as OC-Freak and Jitter burning this media at 8x.
This is CMCF01 burnt at 8x. Scanned at 4x 8ECC on 411@811mk4 HS0K.

Anyone have any idea on how I can improve my burns on this media at 8x?
Maybe it’s the 4x Kprobe scan problems that others have reported with 811s…

OC-Freak, if you have time could you rescan your beautiful looking CMC disc above using your 411@811 and post the result? THX!

Looks as a unsuccessful party of discs. But, probably, new Z’s mod generation will improve burn quality?

Patch v4.5 doesn’t improve anything for me, still the same as v4 here.

Could be just that 4x scanning bug as I get much worse results when scannng in the 811S (real 811S).

same disc scanned with a LDW-811S.

Notice: I get such scans with all Lite-On written +R media when scanning with 811S at 4x speed.

Yes but only for +R discs. -R discs gives good scans.

I think it’s due to some scanning problems with DVD+R discs, with some firmware versions (Newer than HS06 - I think that HS06 may not have this bug, not tested it though).

Revert your drive to 411 and try again. If your drive’s producing the same results -> bad luck…

If you’ve used your original EEPROM such a behaviour should only occur on crappy discs.

First test burn after moding HSOP for 8x on CMC

DVDINFO PRO scan shows no errors on reading of this disk with my Sony dru-510a all the little error blocks are green :slight_smile:

Yes I am very pleased, funny my Ricohjpn 8x burn are good on the same eeprom and firmware, but cmc is better and it would not let me do it at 8x till i edited the firmware.

Just received Memorex x4 +R 25pak spindles (black spindle bottom) and are CMC F01 00 media.

  • UPC: 34707 05571 - PN: 3202 5571
  • C + DR47G - AFWO45 030 (last digit 4 or 8, depending on disc)
    (as opposed to “grey” spindle bottom, which are Ricoh R01 P02 and burn at 8x, maintaining good quality)

Update:
None of the 5 discs will copy to harddrive. Terminates with CRC errors near the end.
Appears this batch is defective, with “not-enough-dye” type of visual at the last
1/8 of the disc. Hard to describe, but its as if the “dye-thickness” is not even.
Not visible on un-burned discs, but can be clearly seen on burned area. Circular/ring shape,
no clear edges, “gasous” like edges, in a band around the disc. Red lines point to the
“light bands,” optical scan shows light area as dark.
