How to get LITE-ON SOHW-1673 to accept bitsetting (firmware?/patch?)

Hi!
I’m new here but hope you could help me with one thing anyway :slight_smile:

I have a LITE-ON SOHW-1673 (external) and try to change the bitsetting at the DVD+R to DVD-RAM. btw, I’m using the program “DVD Decrypter”. The thing is when I change the bitsetting DVD Decrypter doesn’t change it and when i burn it it still “is” a DVD+R…

I have search the net for several hours for a patch/firmware so I can change the DVD writer (too accept bitsetting/book type: DVD-RAM) but with no luck :frowning: that is why I now have to ask you for help. Do you know if I can make the LITEON SOHW-1673 to accept/change the DVD+R to DVD-RAM (where to download the program/firmware/patch etc). Or any place where there they talk about (explaine how it works)…

As you already now am I a noob at this kind of things :frowning:

I really hope someone can help me!

Maybe there is a mistake :slight_smile:

Booktype can be changed in +R discs as ROM, and not as RAM. RAM discs are a peculiar type of rewritable discs.

To change booktype you can use imgburn or cd-dvd speed or the official litoen tool
