How To: Crossflash 215D to 215

Its finally happened. Thanks to the brilliant work of the DVRFlash team its now possible to crossflash your 215D to the 215. The files you will need are located here:
http://rapidshare.de/files/38808617/215Dcrossflash.rar.html

The above file contains DVRFlash 2.5, the kernel, and firmware for the 215. The firmware installed will be 1.18. The DVRFlash command to run is:

dvrflash.exe -ff D: S0014000.118 S0014001.118

Say yes to the warnings and the flashing will then proceed. After which you reboot and you will be at 215 with firmware 1.18 installed. Take note the command above assumes your drive is D so change as necessary. The kernel for the drive came from Pioneer Japan which supplied the kernel with this firmware. Thanks!

Now all that is left is to try a 212 > 215 crossflash…anyone have ideas on what hardware changed between the revisions of the drive?

Sarcoptic, thanks for the kernel file. Do you happen to have the S15-J or A15-J lying around?

#3

Can you point me in the S15J or A15J firmware
Can you point me in the S15J or A15J firmware
@ Sarcoptic,

Don’t fully understand exactly what you are asking but Pioneer series DVR-115 Firmwares are posted in the CD Freaks Pioneer DVD Burner Read First posting titled “Post new firmware and tool ANNOUNCEMENTS here” (http://club.cdfreaks.com/f87/post-new-firmware-tool-announcements-here-210917) ->

http://club.cdfreaks.com/1985213-post40.html

I hope this what you are asking for and will be helpful in obtaining DVR-A15/DVR-A15-J Firmware Kernel Files for DVR-115D crossflashing.

Regards,
bkjg
Link not working from IE or FF.
follow the link to RPC1 page, and download, its because of the anti leeching

#13

I’ve found the new files on rpc1 alrewady, thank you!
But the files contains older kernel, do they match in flash procedure?
I should feel safer to flash first step kernel 1.14 + FW 1.14 and FW1.18 in second step afterwards.
Perhaps I’m wrong and there isn’t any problem…

Although I start on looking for a site with older Pio FWs :iagree:

@PumaUK

Thanks, it worked now…not sure why it didn’t earlier.

Similar here, the 115 kernel is for 1.13, yet firmware is 1.18.

it does not matter that the kernel is older, you can use it with the latest firmware, its been fully tested
