A friend made a dvd of some scenes for me to put on a message board. I don’t know how to copy it and save it to my computer.
Can some one help?

If it is DVD made by your friend, just open it in Explorer and drag the VIDEO_TS folder to your HD.

You can use clone dvd or alcohol 120%, even nero 8 to copy the dvd. If it is a normal data dvd, you can copy and paste from the dvd, if not you have to make an image with alcohol 120%.

Hope that helps:)

When I put the DVD it opens with Windows Media Player and it doesn’t let me save

Close windows media player, and go to my computer, right click on your dvd drive and click on explore. You can then copy or drag the files from there.

Do like calamity say, it will work.

ok but say you have just one scene or section of the DVD you want to copy to the hard drive, how do you do it?

If the DVD is from your friend, you can look at each VTS to see where is the part you want and get that VTS, rename as .mpg and than cut.
Also you can use VobBlanker and extract part which you want with that.

I tried doing it that but it asks me with which program do I want to open. I said quick time but it tells me it’s not supported by quick time. I also tryed opening it with PQFLV downloader but it tells me “file format not supported” and asks me if “s it a flash video file”.
It’s a power dvd file

Also is there a way to save a photo from a scene (screen print) from a dvd?

Thanks

PowerDVD does not open mpeg file. If you have Nero it will do otherwise download free VLC.
That one open individual VOB.
