Having 8MB on a CDRW don’t mean piss if it can’t do 2 sheep. Check out this forum and read up. You’ll be happy w/ what a Lite-On LTR-52246S can do for you.

If so, then you should rest your gaze on 2 models >

either the TEAC CD-W552E or the upcoming Plextor PREMIUM,
since only they 2 have that big buffer size, i.e. 8MB,
which matters when writing @ the higher speeds.

the yamaha crw-f1 also has an 8mb buffer and is great for audio cds, but not for backing up games.

I’d say they’re really beautiful and graceful…with their only 2 MB in waist.

The Plextor premium is way too expensive if you “only” want to read and write CDs. It’s only worth the money if you really want the special functions as well (c1/c2, beta, FE, Jitter, GigaRec)
