How to burn a dvd slide show to be viewed in a uk dvd player

I preparing a slide show using windows vista dvd maker for my Father who lives in Scotland.
However, Im in Canada...and was wondering how to go about burning the disc so it will be able to play in his player? I dont know the make of his dvd maker.

Should I convert the disc at a lab when I get there…or can I just burn it in a format that will be able to playback in his player.
I wanted to use windows dvd maker for the slide show but, I also have nero 8 if thats better too use for this type of process.
Thanks for your help

Hi and Welcome!

self-made DVDs don’t normally have a region code, so they can be played on any DVD player world wide. Since you don’t know the model of your father’s DVD player, you should create a standard MPEG2 DVD disc.

But please don’t ask me how to do that (I never made one myself).

Thanks for the quick reply!
I guess i was thinking I would have to burn the disc with PAL instead of
NTSC.
But I’m not what they are on over there.

Scotland is PAL, but most modern PAL systems will play NTSC.

You could choose PAL and if he has a WS TV author as 16:9.

Don’t know about WMM, but Nero should work as will this free app.

When you go there bring a no region code NTSC disc with, just to see if it plays.
