New user having audio sync problems with DVD ( Sony ) created from
TV episodes. I have tried all the modes ( Mobile Generic ) available in DVDFab5 and the audio sync starts out fine and progresivly goes out of sync so that after 22 minutes it about 5 seconds out.

I have spent a great deal of time searching for a solution and the best I have come up with is the statement that the input DVDFab setting is 24fps, while TV content is 29.97fps. Can this frame rate be adjusted in DVDFab.

If not , can some kind person inform me what I am doing wrong.

I am certainly not alone here with this problem.

The output framerate can be adjusted on the Conversion Settings page for most profiles. If it says “Same as source” set it to 24 or 29.97 using the drop down selector if that value is available. TV episodes can be either but are usually 29.97 (NTSC standard). I don’t think it will make any difference in the a/v sync but it’s worth a try. What are you using to play these files back?

Thanks for the comments,
I tried changing from ‘Source’ to 24 fps and it did not make any difference.

I hope eventually, when encoded correctly to playback on an Acer Aspire One, but at the moment , in testing, I am using a powerful Winxp box, SP3 and VLC. Other ripped and encoded DVDs play perfectly on both machines …it seems to be only Sony TV episodes that give me a problem with sync.

I think Ting said in the other thread that he has duplicated this problem and is working on a fix. Sounded like the same problem anyway.
