Who is your ISP? It wouldn’t be Zen by any chance?
Mine is Tiscali. There is no LLU at my local exchange yet and for the first 3.5 years they forgot to apply the speed limit to my line so I was getting 4-8x the speed I was paying for . But last year I had to contact Tiscal support several times. Each time I had to wait 6-12 weeks for a reply, and when one did arrive it was clear that nobady had acutally read my question :a. Fortunately I had managed to fix the problems myself weeks earlier. Also although they deny it they have clearly been using quite severe traffic shaping for the last couple of years.
I can’t be bothered to change ISP at the moment, but if they LLU my exchange, try and sign me up to Phorm or I have a problem I can’t solve myself and to contact their support again it will be bye-bye Tiscali.
Hehe nah, Virgin Media, formerly Telewest. No monthly download limit, but they will throttle you if you’re downloading unusually large amounts. As I said, I’ve not fallen foul of this yet
4-8x the speed you were paying for!! LOL wonder how they missed that
Another good thing about Virgin is, if there ever is a problem, it’s usually sorted in under an hour, 3 hours max
I actually don’t have a choice for broadband (it’s Virgin or nowt), so it’s lucky I’ve always had good service. No other cable provider that I’m aware of, and I’m too far from the exchange for ADSL
@Zevia - man, I want your upstream. I’m 20mb down too, but my upstream is only 700-something kbps
