None of my liteOn drives,(3), vibrate in the least. I suspect that mounting style may affect this.
I do not know , personally i will test and some other drives too ,before i make my mind …

hello!
i got a ltn 526 too . nero info tool says it has only 120kb cache while aothers cdrom have 128kb. feurio device tester says it hasn’t a perfect qualily reading capability
i have done some stest:
From Feurio Device Tester
nformations from INQUIRY command:

Reading again #10 -> OK. offset: 0 samples, error: 0 samples (0%) Transfer rate: 3526 kByte/second (19.9 times)
Result:
Operations carried out: 10
The data could be read without offset, i.e. the device always was able to position the head correctly and to read identical data.

++ Jitter test
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Result:
Read operations carried out: 3025
Jitter alerts: 0 (0%)
Jitter errors: 2, average offset: 774 samples, maximum offset: 774
Not reported jitter errors: 2
Not identical data during 4 read operations (0%)
Diagnosis:
Congratulations!
Your device nearly reads the data perfectly and with hardly any jitter errors
(The errors could be caused for example by a scratch on the CD)!
Result:
Operations carried out: 500, time needed: 52.037 seconds
Average time per operation (=seek time): 104 ms
Not matching sectors: 0 (0%)
Correct sectors without offset: 500 (100%)
Correct sectors with offset: 0 (0%)

what do you think about? and do you know the difference betwen ltn526 and ltn526S?From Feurio Device Tester [B]
i need a nice reader too… i would like to be able to back up games the fastest way and to rip audio discs just as fast.
right now i have a lite on 48246s (overclocked to 52246s) and a pioneer dvd-106s (16x40x).
i really believe that an extra reader would be useful…
