How do you rip a Blu-Ray?

Hi!

Installed the latest version. Have tried with 15 different Blu-Ray disk and not one of them will show up in DVDFab.

Am I doing something wrong? I try to select via the pulldown which drive and the pulldown box is empty. I can play all the Blu-Ray movies fine.

What is DVDFab supposed to look like when it sees a Blu-Ray disk?

Thanks!

From the latest changelog

Please note: DVDFab doesn’t support HD-DVD and Blu-ray officially now, since it doesn’t work on some Blu-ray discs, which was just released or released by “20th Century Fox”. Please take this feature as free bonus, thanks for your understanding.

The program is free and still being developed.

all i know is the BD must be released before June 2008 and you must use full disc mode.

Please take this feature as free bonus, thanks for your understanding.

 • In most cases if you have played a movie (BD/HD) on your pc the drive has been revoked and you can not rip it period.
Hi DrinkLyeAndDie,

If you have played the discs on PC with PowerDVD or WinDVD, then your drive is revoked, so that DVDFab cannot work.

so this is what he really means. thanks for the clarification ~Jethro~. i was a little confused by the statement myself.

i know squat about BD, so the fact that WinDVD working but DVDFab not working because the drive is revoked makes no since to me. ?? and i am not going to try to understand it.

If the drive has been revoked, how could I possibly be playing all these movies on it?

With all due respect, how does your repsonse answer my question?

All I asked was how does this work and what am I supposed to see and your answer was a disclaimer.

Of course it’s free, of course it’s not official but it’s still rude to blow someone off who asked a legitimate question.

It will still play them, but will not allow Fab to rip them. Try google for revoked drives.

stewie7669,

sorry you are upset. i dont think alan1476 was trying to blow you off. i beleive that as many of us, he doesnt really have a good answer. he was just letting you know the only information we know at this point. fengtao is working on it. and your continued input will be of help to improve the support.

as this is obviously a free bonus, i dont want to bother the author any more than i already have. if fengtao feels the need to make a more official statement concerning all the details of the dvdfab HD Decrypter support. i will leave that up to him.

for now all we know is:

[ul]
[li]dvdfab uses public keys
[/li][li]supports releases before June, 2008
[/li][li]does not support just released or released by “20th Century Fox”
[/li][li]you must use full disc mode
[/li][li]If you have played the discs on PC with PowerDVD or WinDVD, then your drive is revoked, so that DVDFab cannot work.
[/li][/ul]

dvdfab is offering the free support of publicly available keys. for more information about the keys please visit doom9.

dvdfab does not offer commercial product for Blu-ray support. please check out the HD Forum for more information.

and i should have added this
Hi,

As far as we know, there is no real crack for aacs on hddvd/blu-ray for now. So any product which claim to crack hddvd/blu-ray, may fail on future discs. It’s not like css on dvd, if you break it, all future discs is supported, and we can release update for 3rd protections like arccos, etc. So we will not release a commercial product which claim to do something, but cannot promise to do it.

If there is real crack for hddvd/blu-ray, we will definitely add support for it.

Best Regards,
Fengtao
