I doubt there are many here with experience using this Cyberlink software. Perhaps someone will chip in though. I personally avoid anything from Cyberlink except PowerDVD, and even it is less than great. Cyberlink's cowtowing to the media companies in regard to Blu Ray playback has been a disgusting spectacle to say the least.
I use ImgBurn for virtually all my burning needs these days. It is a free program and very versatile. If you are happy with Power2Go, stick with it. If you want an alternative, take a look at ImgBurn.
Your problems in Nero may have less to do with the program and more to do with your burner or media. Matshita drives have a very poor reputation.
To check the quality of your burns you'll need a burner with scanning capability. The most commonly used ones for checking DVD burns are Lite-on. You can use Nero CD/DVD Speed or KProbe with a Lite-on dvd burner. In your case, since you have what I presume to be a laptop, you'll need an external burner.
There are other burners with scanning capability. Plextor, some Samsungs...others I can't recall off the top of my head. Look through the Drive forums and the Blank Media forum for more information.
