Read the html FAQ available at their site,

www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/
KurtCocain,

How to do it -

Open the mp3 file in mp3dc -

Position the mouse cursor to where you want to start the selection, press LEFT mouse button once (Left button=left end of selection),

move to end of where you want to select, press right button once(Right button=right of selection),

it will show the selection in CYAN.

go to menu…file…save selection and tell it where you want to save it.

A real no-brainer - what’s all the fuss about?

Thanks for exactly n o t answering the question, smartass

The OP didn’t want to know how to save a selection, but how

to split a full album to separate tracks with mp3Direct Cut

That means File » Save split …
as opposed to File » Save selection …
and it’s indeed not too easy to figure out.

[ul]
[li]If you just click [Cut] like the manual suggests, it does not do anything.
[/li][li]If you cut a small section, you’ll get a split point – but that’s not wanted.
[/li][/ul]
In fact, you have to do the following:

[ol]
[li]Click left at the position of the desired split point,
[/li][li]and then click on [Cut] (resulting in a dotted line),
[/li][li]repeat these two steps for additional split points,
[/li][li]and now you are enabled to use File » Save split.
[/li][/ol]
HTH anyone :flower:

And yes, I know this thread is already more than eleven years old,
but it’s still the first Google hit for the query “mp3directcut split”!
(which is how I came here and why I still provided the desired information)
