Not to shound stupid, but anyone could have thought of DVD idea - since the idea would have sparked off from VCD.

yeah, I agree. The idea of a higher density disk just makes sense period. thats been what the industry has done as long as its been around. When you rent HDTV movies on hard drives, that was my idea:d:)
