How can I understand the cause of a Nero 9 failure?

Hi guys,

I am having real problems with writing BD-R DL disks (verbatim) using Nero 9, and I want to track down the cause. :sad:

I am getting a success rate of about 60%. using Verbatim disks - which I understand should be OK - and, importantly within my budget.

I have kept the last couple of log files.

Is there anyone here who might be able to help?

Hi,

could you uninstall Nvidia IDE/Sata drivers and use Windows built-in generic drivers instead?
LG drives are often very picky with the interface they are connected to, and the “wrong” drivers might indeed cause trouble. Additionally, I would try if setting the operation mode of the Sata controller your drive is attached to can be set to “IDE” or similar.

Could I ask you to finally just to check I’ve actioned it correctly?

I attatch a few screen dumps from Windows 7 control Panel, and also the BIOS. (Asus mobo)

The LG BluRay is on SATA 3
This now seems just to show up as 'Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller - unless I’m looking in the wrong bit. :slight_smile:

Partially. Your drive still shows up as “SCSI” device. This is an indication, the Sata controller is still not running in “IDE” mode.
You may check the options in Bios under “Advanced”.

So you were at least successful in uninstalling the Nvidia IDE drivers. :wink:

If you can not switch Sata operation mode to “IDE” (some motherboards with Nvidia chipset don’t have such an option), then your last resort is trying the drive on a different Sata port (like 5 or 6) and installing latest chipset drivers from nvidia.com (drivers from the motherboard manufacturer are somewhat older).
