You can try to find a firmware for your DVD player that will make it “Region FREE”–thus being able to play DVDs from any region.

Are you talking about a commercial player, if so what make and model is it? You might look here: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks. If it’s your computer DVD recorder / player what make and model is it? You might be able to make it rpc1 (region free) with a region free bios, if one exist. Look at: http://rpc1.org, for help. This is only half the solution, as your software player must be also made region free.

Ya still didn’t answer the most important question of them all! What kind of player are you talking about? Stand alone or the drive in your puter? And what brand and model is it?

You can get open source freeware Windows Media Player Classic. You may need to get some codecs. Look for k-lite package, WMPC is included there too.

Check put this list too

Yes the original poster left some info out, but he says:

  1. watching them on my computer but now i cant change regoins ive used up all of my alloted changes.

  2. So what i would like to know is, are there freeware or software to buy that will let me play dvds from any regoin?

To me it looks like DVD drive

Hey Goudo…

I’d agree that it sounds like a puter drive but still, what kind and model. If it’s an NEC 3500 maybe he could get one of the hacked F/W that would allow him to be region free. But without that info. there’s know way of knowing.

So now go to Optorites web site and check for the newest F/W for the drive (if they offer it) and flash the drive with it. Then see if your problem goes away.
