-Elan!

Can’t comment on them since I don’t know the manufacturer.

Why not buy a few and post the manufacturer information(ATIP) here?

Then I may be able to tell you more.

Well I’d rather know if they’re good before I buy them, but for the price I might give them a try. Just wondering if anyone has gotten them before.

-Elan!

the manufacturer is:

STI Certified Products
42982 Osgood Road
Fremont, CA 94539

Tel: 1-800-274-3475
http://www.sticertified.com/cdr1.html

They mainly sell blanks under brand name of “Digital Media”

I saw the fine print on the box about the manufacturer at the store. I don’t know about them either. Any experience?

Nope never heared about them. sorry :frowning:

Still the ATIP information will be nice, if someone go ahead and buy some sometime please post the ATIP here.

For $10 I’ll give them a try. I’ll post when I get them.

So they are princo!

Personally I’ve had very few princo’s but those I’ve had have been ok.

Some say the discs are great but others again say they are just average.

I bought a spool of 50 Jensens at Circuit City in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Here’s what CDR IDentifier said:

ATIP: 97m 15s 17f
Disc Manufacturer: Ritek Co.
Reflective layer: Dye (Short strategy; e.g. Phthalocyanine)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 73f / LBA: 359848)

I wish they were princo; they are the only disks that work in my sony s360 dvd play.

I got another 50 Jensen and they were the same as the 100 I bought:

ATIP: 97m 27s 28f
Disc Manufacturer: Princo Co.
Reflective layer: Dye (Short strategy; e.g. Phthalocyanine)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849)

No problems at all with the first 100 I burnt

I have a different story :

Jensen:

Disc Type = CDR (A+)
Manufacturer = CMC Magnetics Corporation

<< Disc Information >>
Erasable = False
Lead-in Start Time of Last Session = 97:26:66 (61:1A:42h)
Last Possible Start Time for Startof Lead-out = 79:59:73(4F:3B:49h)

The price was right though - $1.99 AR

Jensen is Circuit City’s house brand. Circuit City uses different OEM to make its Jensen brand. That’s why you see so many manufacturers are behind the scene.

Kind of like Optimum CD-Rs from Staples and KHypermedia CD-Rs from OfficeMax. They switch around manufacturers, I presume depending on who’s the cheapest at the moment.

The Jensen Princo CD-Rs were alright. Worked better for me than CMC, but nothing special. It appears the appeal in the Princos is that it works well on some older CD players when other brands choke.

I think someone said in a test of Jensen CD-Rs that they got Lead Data discs. :Z
