oh well, i guess they will come out and be popular sooner or later. I heard that best buy sells the 24x Memorex RW's. Im not sure how good they are though, but i guess its better than nothing. I just need 1 or maybe 2 anyways.
AVOID them. Read the thread on testing CD-RW's and you will see that these disks consistantly come up as junk. I am testing the Memorex 12x CDRW that came with my Memorex 522452 drive (rebadged Litey) and am not happy with the results. Write #1 went great, no errors in either Nero CDSpeed or in CD Doctor, but then I was only writing 310 MB of data to it. Subsequent writes closer to the limit of the media have been a mess. I have done nothing but full erases using both CloneCD and Alcohol 120% and the best results were from Alcohol. I am going to try one more time before throwing away the media to see if I can get another good burn out of it and if I can, then I'll put it through some more cycles to see if it was something I was doing wrong before I give up on it. So far, my opinion of Memorex CDRW media is that it is crap. I have had good luck with their CDR media, however.
One thing I should mention and its the reason I say that these errors may be due to my mistake is that I may have overburned the disc by accident, using Nero. Litey's, from my understanding, do not react well to overwritten CDR/W's.
