any help would be lovely as i really want to get some films of my daughter on disk for the family( shes 11 months =P)

Try diff.media eg. Verbatims or TY’s…and slow down your burn speed…

If you don’t know what t0nee1 meant by TY, it means Taiyo Yuden, which is a company that manufactures high quality disks. You can buy them online at shops like rima.com or supermediastore.com if you are in the US. Verbatims are easier to find at local stores, and are also very good.

What disks are you using now? Open Nero CD/DVD Speed and look under the Disc Info tab to tell us the id code.

16x is often times too fast for marginal quality media, so t0nee1’s advice to try a slower speed is a good suggestion.

Looks like he’s using Verbatim 16x-R Kerry.

You’re right. I scanned that log too quickly and missed the id code.

That really just leaves trying a slower burn speed. Though I personally have had better luck with the +R Verbatims. May just be variations in the batch of -R disks I got, or my burner prefers them.

Well then according to drives specs…
"The Lite-On LH-20A1P fails sometimes to write media at their rated speed or slows down during the burning process without a reason while other burns appear to be perfect. It doesn’t affect the writing quality but it’s simply annoying."
Try first by slowing to 8x…see what happens…

sorry Kerry ,you’re just quicker on the draw buddy!..
but then again you’re from Texas…
