Hi! Help please! PHILIPS SPD2400

Hi,

Please be gentle with me, I’m a newb all round I guess!

I’ve stumbled across this gr8 site looking for a fix, my dvd writer is being a git, it’s a PHILIPS SPD2400 and I can’t find what i want!

I’m sure I spotted a fix for it before, at the moment it’s knocking out DVDs no problem but has a fit with CDs! I’ve tried different makes of CD but still the same turdy error message. I dunno if it’s bad form to post the log file here so I’ll wait for the thumbs up and past the log in if anyone is interested in helping.
Sorry for the burden on my first post.

Welcome to the forum

No, it’s not bad form to post the log file, in fact it’d really help, and is usually one of the first things we ask for

Just be sure to remove your serial number from it first!

Great, just the news I was hoping for!

As you’re burning an Audio CD why not try Burrrn (www.burrrn.net). It often works where Nero fails & will help determine whether Nero is the problem.

Generally we recommend 16x burn speed for music CDs on CD-R media but I guess you could be using CD-RW. What brand etc are you using?

#5

Thanks Tim, this one is Imation but it failed on my cheapo ones (Mr.Data) too.

#6

I second the Burrrn suggestion - from your log, nothing immediately springs out at me, so trying different software might help.

However, is that a virtual drive I see? Might be worthwhile (temporarily) uninstalling that, too, then when the problem is fixed, reinstalling it.

Your trying to burn a mp3.

Nero 7.0.8.2 have a mp3 bug, if I don’t remember wrong.

Update to latest Nero.
