Help

using dvd flick to do my movis but now im getting a message from imgburn that says about power calibration failure but the burner working fine doing cds but dvd fick playing up pls help

Power calibration errors means your drive is having a hard time finding the correct setting for burning the disks you are trying to use. Get some good quality blank disks, like Verbatim 16x, and try burning them at 8x or 12x speed.

got the verbatim disks and its still playing up pls help before i go insane

Post a burn log.

whats a burn log sorry im new to this

Your burning program keeps a record of the burning process. It can help provide information that can tell what’s going wrong.

ok will do

thing playing up when i put a dvd in the drive it takes ages for the light to stop flashing just dont understand it

Without more specific information, we will just be guessing on what is going on.

Try a few specific steps.
First we’d like to know which make and model dvd drive you have. Also what media and burn speed you are using.

Second, if this is an IDE interface drive, you should check DMA status of the drive. Look in my signature for Womble’s guide for DMA…it is a direct link to the guide.

Next, if dma status shows the drive in Ultra DMA Mode 2 or 4, try a simple burn of data to a dvd. Use ImgBurn for this test and burn at 8x speed. Look at the ImgBurn log and copy and paste it here.

Try playing a commercially made dvd in the drive. If you don’t have software for that on the computer, download VLC. www.videolan.org

its sorting it now just gotta wait till it tries to burn the film ive got a writemaster dvd cd burner and i got verbatim dvd-r 16x
