@ yogibear w.vince

Saying you are using Memorex media does not fully describe the actual DVD Media you are using. Most DVD Media Retailers do not actually manufacture the DVD media that they market but purchase the DVD Media from DVD Media manufactures and place in their Brand Name Boxes. Some times the Name Brand Retailers market reliable DVD Media sometimes they don’t. To accurately describe your DVD media you need to provide the Manufacture ID and Media Code (Example- RitekG05). You can obtain the Manufacture ID and Media Code by using DVDInfo Pro (http://www.dvdinfopro.com) or similar software utility. Request that you provide the actual Manufacture ID and Media Code of the DVD media you are experiencing your current problem with.

Stating you the latest version of AnyDVD/CloneDVD does not provide the actual version of the program you are using for Forum Member that are attempting to assist you. Suggest visiting SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) and download the latest versions and provide the versions numbers when making postings at the Forum.

Please provide your DVD Burner Manufacture Name/Model Number/ Firmware version. You can obtain his information by using DVDInfo Pro (http://www.dvdinfopro.com) or similar software utility.

Please provide a detailed explanation as what problem you are experiencing when attempting to make a back up of the DVD titles Constantine and Hostage and where and when during the back up process you are experiencing this difficulty. If you are receiving any error notification or similar warnings please provide the exact notification that you are receiving.

Best Regards,
bjkg

As others have stated you must provide specific information of the errors if you expect help. Do yourself a favor and never post your email address unless you get satisfaction from a mailbox full of spam.

Also verify that you are using CloneDVD2 from Slysoft or Elaborate Bytes with version # 2.6.5.1 and not the CloneDVD V 3.5 which is another program that is using the CloneDVD name.

You said “I use memorex media & have had no failures.I suppose it depends what type of burner you use.”

Burner has nothing to do with crap media, if the media is junk the best burner in the world will not help. Not all Memorex media is bad, you have to research and find the best ones, Memorex puts their name on many manufactured media, some decent, some real crap.
I’m sure the burn went well for you, but maybe 6 months from now when you play that DVD again it won’t be so good due to the dye breaking down.

You should visit the Media forum at CD Freaks and learn what media is good for your specific burner. As bjkg mentioned about DVDInfoPro, this program, or similar, is a must have if you want to verify you are using decent media.

Okay, the media i used is maxell, not memorex (my fault) it says its dvd+r its just regular stuff off the shelf walmart crap, the program is Slysoft,clonedvd2-2.8.5.1and Anydvd-5.4.1.1the burner i use is,dvd+r-rw its what ever dell uses in the 2400.when i watch the copy ive made it plays fine for about twenty minutes then it just freezes, you have to fast forward a second of it then it works fine for a while then it does it again,i looked at the back of the dvd it has two or three clear rings…i burned star wars, episode three revenge of the sith, with same media and program and its fine. ive burned several sence then with no errors on these there is no pop up,happening or errors,it says it was successfull thats what i dont understand?i hope this info is more helpful im not a computer wiz,i dont live in my parents basement, with a farra faucet poster and a revenge of the hobbit collection, not saying any of you are, just that you know the type.

@ yogibear w.vince,

OK - Once again please provide the requested information.

Got to -> http://www.dvdinfopro.com and download a copy of DVDinfo Pro ((http://www.dvdinfopro.com). DVDInfo Pro will provide you with the Manufacture ID and Media Code (Example- RitekG05) of the DVD media you are actually using. This information is important. It is possible that your problem is caused by the use cheap inferior DVD media. We will not know if this is the problem until you provide the Manufacture ID and Media Code (Example- RitekG05) of the DVD media you are actually using.

Also DVDInfo Pro (http://www.dvdinfopro.com) will provide you with your DVD Burner Manufacture Name/Model Number/ Firmware version. Saying the burner you use is dvd+r-rw or whatever dell uses in the 2400 is totally useless information. Knowing the DVD Burner Manufacture Name/Model Number/ Firmware version is important information. It is possible old out dated DVD Burner firmware that needs to be up dated is the cause your problem. We will never know if this is the cause of your problem until you provide the DVD Burner Manufacture Name/Model Number/Firmware version.

It also could be a combination of the use of cheap inferior DVD media and old out dated DVD Burner firmware. Provide the above information and Forum Members will be able to review the information and provide assistance to you.

Also could you provide the name of the DVD Movie Titles that you are having problems making back of copies of. Once again this is important information because some DVD Titles are known to be problematic when attempting to make copies of.

Until you provide the above information it is going to be virtually impossible for Forum Members to provide meaningful assistance. Help your self to help others to help you.

bjkg

I think i found the info, media is rtekr03 ,the dvd info i got was -necdvd+rw nd3100ad(e:) 107e , region code 1 ,s#4855L8431111, buffer-2048kb does any of that sound right? the only two movies ive had any trouble with is constantine and hostage it freezes at about twenty minutes into the movie but my program clonedvd2 2.8.5.1 anydvd 5.4.1.1 from slysoft dosent put up a error code? it says it did just fine…and im still using the same media…oh thanks for the dvdinfo dont know how to use it yet but its cool.

@ yogibear w.vince,

Thanks for taking the time and effort to provide the requested information.

You have a NEC DVD+RW ND-3100 burner. The NEC DVD+RW ND-3100 Burner only supports the use of + (plus) DVD media. The rtekr03 media identifier you provided does not exist. I believe you might have miss-typed the actual Manufacture ID and Media Code of the DVD media you are using and meant to type the ritekG03 media identifier or possibly ritekR03 media identifier. The NEC DVD+RW ND-3100 burner is only a + (plus) DVD media burner and does not support the use of – (minis) DVD media. RitekG03 media is – (minis) DVD media and ritekR03 media is + (plus) DVD media. Ritek DVD media is considered to be acceptable DVD media.

The current firmware of your NEC DVD+RW ND-3100 Burner is version 107e. There is a newer updated and improved DVD Burner firmware based on the NEC ND-3500 2F9 version firmware available.

If you visit the NEC DVD Burner Forum one of the NEC DVD Burner firmware specialist has developed a updated and improved firmware for the NEC DVD+RW ND-3100 based on the NEC ND-3500 2F9 firmware that allows the use of both + (plus) DVD media and – (minis) DVD media. The NEC DVD Burner firmware specialist who developed the updated improved firmware is Liggy and in the NEC DVD Burner community Liggy is noted for providing numerous NEC Firmware Flashing tools and NEC updated and improved firmwares. If you are interested in this updated and improved firmware for the NEC DVD+RW ND-3100 that allows the use of both + (plus) DVD media and – (minis) DVD media I have provided a link that provides detailed information. It should also be noted that besides allowing the use of both + (plus) DVD media and – (minis) DVD media this firmware improves reading and writing of data.

bjkg,
All that investigative work just went right down the tubes.
Simple solution was to burn only DVD+ media, although he \she states that did not help. You are to be commended on your efforts.

@ yogibear w.vince,

Your last Forum posting #18 in this thread is confusing to me.

Perchance are you suggesting that Forum Members have failed to provide meaningful assistance to you? I am at a loss to know what additional information and/or assistance can be provided to you.

What question have either other Forum Members or I have failed to provide you with an answer?
