i got these TY discs heres the scan results
are these good, could someone tell me how to read a scan and is this a good result for a TY disc?
This scan don't seem reliable to me. There are no PIE. Try to do a scan with latest version of cd-dvd speed.
heres a scan in the program u suggestedis it good?
This is not a scan, but a transfer rate test. There is a dip at 3,5 GB, but is not so bad.
Can you do a scan (aka disc quality test) selecting 4x as speed?
heres the quality scan, is it good?
Yes, it's a good scan. A little high PIE, but a good scan.
Have you checked if there is a scratch on the disc? That PIF spike could be due to dust or scratches on the disc
well these discs are fake TY's i think, no scratches or dust
What brand are?
scans are too good to be fake
Where did you get them, and are there some numbers around the hub of the discs? If so, post them.
there a brand called Imjet
hmm /me think that are fake... but that fake gave a good scan...
i scanned in the bottom of the disk, the dust and dirt was from the scanner not the disc
Ah, Imjet...I remember the "are they fake?" thread now.
does the scan above look like a real TY?
It have a litle too PIE and usually in a Taiyo there are less PIF too, but it's not so bad anyway. The only issue is that dip in transfer rate test @3,5 GB; it's probable that with time that 3,5 gb spot can give reading problems
ok, how far into the dvd shall i look for playback errors?
there are no absolute rules. My suggestion is to keep that disc until it start to give playback problems like stuttering or image pixelation (if it's a movie), and then recover all files and burn it on a new disc
