For about four months I have used daemon tools and alcohol to backup my game titles, and for the first month it worked flawlessly for bf2, far cry, and other safedisc titles. All of a sudden, one day I started getting the dreaded ~df394b error when loading safedisc 3 titles (such as far cry, medal of honor pacific assault, etc) with my images (these are not mini-images) into a virtual drive. I know that the images work fine because they load correctly in my other computer. So, I'm wondering if anyone has advice?
Here's the tech info
Example of error Medal of Honor gave me at startup:
AppName: mohpa.exe AppVer: 188.8.131.52 ModName: ~df394b.tmp
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0008d86b
I've searched this topic numerous times on the internet, but I have failed to find any working solutions. So far, I have tried:
- Using different programs to mount image.
- Changing name\identification of virtual drive.
- Reinstalled affected programs
- Unplugged ide drive.
- Clean booted computer.
- Tried PIO mode.
- Tried Safedisc driver update.
- Updated physical drive firmware
None of these have worked. I have no clue why this would have happened so suddenly, and I'm totally stuck. It should be noted that this problem only occurs when I try to mount safedisc 3 titles. Any other protection (sd4, securom) works fine. Any ideas?
