I was wondering if someone could tell me which of these ram choices you would reccommend from newegg. It will be installed on an Asus A8V deluxe with an AMD Athalon 64 3000+ Venice (both purchased from newegg same time as ram). The GPU is an ATI 9800 pro(for now, this is next thing to be upgraded)
CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) $87.95 or
Kingston ValueRAM 1GB (2 x 512MB) $95.95 or
crucial 512MB $46.58 2 of these (can't find a 1 GB kit for crucial on newegg)
These 3 seem to be the ones most people use for 1 Gb for less than $100. I am leaning towards choice one. It has the CAS latency of 2.5 as opposed to 3 (not sure if this really matters) and is currently on sale. choice 3 would require 2 shipping charges for two sticks of 512. I do not plan to overclock.
Also, can you suggest a good ATX mid tower case from Newegg for around $50. (or, to save on shipping, from BB, CC or CompUSA, all within 3 miles of my house) I would prefer aluminum( not sure how heavy a steel one would be, although I only move my computer if I am working on it) Nothing fancy. No side window. No power supply(unless the case is otherwise what I need, then I'll just remove it). No front door to open for drive access (unless it can be removed). Including fans, possibly with a slide out or removable mobo tray or other useful features. My current cheapo uses one thumbscrew for dis-assembly and would prefer a feature similar to this (I've seen one that uses 3 thumbscrews, one each for top and sides, this would be ok)
Thanks for any help you can give
