I need some help.
I am having problems when burning DVD on my new NEC 3540A.
Plus sometimes i am not able to open writen DVD-s, but original DVD-s are no problem.

So the problem is not viewing DVD-s but burning them!

I tried many things:
-first the hardware: changing Master/slave, computers, slots…
-and the software: -update my nero+ dowload different programs
-analysing my DVD with DVD indentifiers
-plus programs: try to disable my DVD in control panel-system…

so the problem starts when i try to burn my DVD it’s stats checking… but after that the computer blocks

any help would be appreciated, because i am trying to make it work for 2 days
thx

Brand names do not help much, as a brand can offer several different media under the same name. Use DVD Identifier or Nero CDSpeed’s disk info and post the media code of your disks.

Edit: Looks like I entered this when you were posting the first data
Plasmon is very low quality.

hehe
i will test TDK now and i will post the results

it hapens the same with the other disks!
it just hungs up when nero starts to burn my dvd
(i’ve chosen first option DVD and iso)
it’s just writes “checking disk” and stopes
and i notice there is no (green) light on dvd burner

should i try any other program?
i upgraded nero to the latest version 6.0.0.16

thx

#9

i try CDburner XP pro, it won’t burn DVD either
i really don’t get the problem???

i try uninstal NERO and install 6.0.0.14
try to write CD- it works (so there’s nothing wrong with the writer)!

#10

i finally did it!
with maxell

but now i am concerned why my writer is so picky???
and what should i do with all the dvd-s???

and still i cannot read a lot of my friends DVD-s
got any idea how to make my DVD read them???
