Help with my Sony dvd dru-510a

Everytime I try to burn a dvd it fails. Any idea what I should do? I will post my nero error if needed.

You have a power calibration error and you are using Ritek. I don’t like Ritek and maybe your Sony doesn’t either. I would try different media.

I buy Verbatim on the internet. I don’t know what good media is available locally, but others do.

Judging from the model number, your Sony may be a little long in the tooth. But I’d try other media before replacing it.

Oddly my media is memorex. Not sure if that is Ritek media with memorex stamped on it. I will try another media before anything else. Thanks.

Yep, it figures. I avoid the Memorex label also. As you have discovered, the label doesn’t tell you what the manufacturer of the disc is. For that, you need to see the MID (Manufacturer’s ID) that is recorded on the disc. Programs like CDspeed will show you that.

Unsupported 16X media for this older drive surely. Use 4X or 8X discs if you want to continue using this burner.
