Chloe, I stopped the song in “Audacity” but it still is Grayed Out on “Effects” and “Analyze”. I would like to extend the last part 20 seconds with a “Loop” and then Fade it out.

I also tried “AVS” and was able to “Fade it out” but the Volume decreases during the whole song. and I would also like to “Loop” it out 20more seconds.

What version of Audacity are you using ?
As soon as an audio file is opened the “Effects” and “Analyze” are available.
At least for me. So I don’t know the cause of your version being greyed.
You did install the libraries recommended ?
ffmpeg & LAME for Audacity.
There are more plugins you may or may not need.
I’m not sure what you mean by a “Loop” .
Would that be part of the song joined back in then faded out ?

For using AVS for this I didn’t even know it would do that.

Maybe I need to delete it and download Audacity again an look for the libraries to download. Loop is what you explained. I am trying to extend by repeating a song verse. I then want to Fade it out. I see it has a “Fade Out” so I should have no problem. AVS “Audio Editor” has a free version that is similar to Audacity. Thanks.

It may be a good idea to uninstall & then install the latest version .
Look around at the guides here:

For more when there click on the “All Tutorials & Tips” in the lower right corner.

Some plugins You won’t usually need most of them but if you do:

Cholla, I am trying to remove about 10 seconds to the ending of an MP3. I then want to take the end of that MP3 and Fade it out. I have been going through the “Audacity” Index of effects and can’t find where it explains how to do it. Thanks, ptfitzy

Cholla, I sent a Reply quote asking a question about Audacity. This was from a Reply 2 weeks ago. I accidentally sent it to you on my Reply, so I don’t know if you will get it. Phil
