Help with 8x DL discs

vbimport

#1

i am using nero 7.5.9.1
writer is a lite-on shm-165S6S dvd burner
i can burn everythink ok but DL discs
i was using infiniti 2.4x disc for backing up dvds work fine
now trying to use AONE 8x discs, nero will only let me burn these at 4x,6x and 8x and they fail every time,
but if i use dvd decrypter to read image then write image and verify it works every time and dvd decrypter lets me burn them at 2.4x but nero wont plz help

The problem can be the media. All brands of DU discs except Verbatim are highly variable in quality between totally ugly and rather decent.

Try again with a Verbatim: usually this solve

#3

Those Aone’s are fake RicohJpn D01 media, that’s why they are so cheap and cost about £4 per pack of 10. The first layer usually burns great the second layer is usually a disaster. Some people have luck with different batches, but many older dvd recorders have problems with them Benq 1620 / LG4163B. You can burn them no problems on a Pioneer 112D/112 or LiteON drives but its not recommended as the quality will still be poor especially the second layer.

Tip of advice if you see Dual Layer media advertised at 8x stay away as its usually this fake RicohJpn D01 media. Unless its verbatim or advertised as Ricoh media stay away.

Or if you see dual media about either ask in the forums for the media code and quality as well as check out svp.co.uk for media codes.

#4

try to use verbatim 2.4x disc in nero again at 2.4x and theystill fail so tryed to use one in dvd decripter and told it to write and verify it and the verbatim work fine so i think it is a nero problem a ideas plz

#5

Use Dvd Decrypter or ImgBurn, Dvd Decrypter’s burn engine updated & given to us free by the same author.

#6

i am using Dvd Decrypter but has anyone got any ideas why nero does not work, can i make nero burn at speeds it does not list.

#7

If you think it’s a Nero problem, please post a Nero error log (it will prompt you to save one when the burn fails).

As for getting Nero to burn faster, perhaps the drive’s firmware only supports the discs at 2.4x

#8

nero wont let me burn at 2.4x its only 4x 6x or 8x

#9

Hmmm. That’s very odd.

Anyhow, please post a log if a disc fails with Nero.

#10

where are the logs saved on m/c which folder

#11

By default, the log will be saved in c:\program files
ero
ero 7\core
erohistory.log

Just post the last bit which pertains to your failed Verbatim burn.
