HELP: Start to finish DVD movie burning?

I've recently bought a new computer with a DVD burner for the purpose of burning movies (hopefully to play on home DVD player)... However, I've discovered the process isn't as easy as burning CDs... Can anyone outline how to go about burning movies, including software suggestions.. I'll have to extract to hard drive before burning to DVD as my second drive is a cd-rw drive and not an additional dvd drive... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris

I'm new at it and only have 1 movie burned so far but it turns out that movie is a difficult one to backup (Bourne Supremacy) I used DVD Shrink: http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html and DVD Decrypter: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/1011845169/1 and it worked. I had to use Decrypter to rip it because Shrink had a hard time doing it. Once it was ripped I used DVD Shrink to open the file where Decrypter ripped to and then hit "backup" and after it was done doing whatever it was that it did, it then asked me for the blank media so it could write to it (to my surprise) and I just put one in and it burned a 100% copy.

i use dvd decrypter for getting rid of the macrovision protection then clone dvd to compress it and output the file to a location on my hdd (clone dvd isn't free though). Then i use nero 6.6.0.3 to burn the dvd files to a blank disc using the booktype setting as well (this makes dvd+r's look like dvd-roms to dvd players). Bingo, done. I've made hundreds of successful copies this way.
