Help plz: "Out of memory" error while trying to burn data dvd in Nero 6.6.1.4

Howdy. despite having cleaned for malware, not running anything in the background and numerous restarts, i keep running into a “not enough memory” error while trying to burn a 4478MB data dvd. i’ve tried to search for a solution but so far everything i have read is extremely vague or over my head and i’d really like your help.

i have an unoverclocked xpm 2500, 512mb of kingston value ram and 2.78GB of free hdd space. nero’s ‘ultrabuffer’ is set at ‘automatic configuration’ with ‘data buffer size: 71 MB’ greyed out. i’m using windows 98

the log reports this:

many thanks for your help!

There is a problem w/ 6.6.1.4. Suggest you revert to earlier version as that will clear it up. This problem is happening w/ the people that updated and use DVD Shrink or DVDDecrypter.

D/L Nero CleanTools
Uninstall the update in add/remove programs
Use Cleantools and completely remove any Nero files left
reboot
install the older Nero Version and you should be good to go

EDIT: could someone tell me where i get a download for the 6.6.0.16 update?

Might not solve your problem, but I would not be happy with 2.78GB free on a h/d. If that is your only h/d on your system you could run into all sorts of unexplained problems (like if Nero wants to make a disc image or cache files). Do some cleaning out any try for a minimum of 10 GB.
