I posted this in the "Which DVD writer to buy but no one answered. I need urgent help please. Thank you!
I didn't want to start a new thread as I think you're sick of this question so I'll post my problem here. I'd like to buy a dvd writer and I have three options right now (not considering the Plex 8X which is not out yet):
NEC 1300 - 279USD
Pioneer A06 - 300USD
TEAC DV-W50D - 309USD
all bulk or OEM and all are dual format
(prices are so high because I'm in Romania and these things are not so cheap here)
My problem is that the only affordable dvd-r disks I can find here are from Traxdata, Multidisc or Datatrack. Most computer hardware shops don't even import dvd+r but I'd like a dual burner with the best media compatibility possible because I can't afford high cost disks like Ricoh or Verbatim (7USD/disk here) and probably in the future they'll have dvd+r for sale also. So? What should I get?
PS I'll get a PLex 52X Premium also so I don't care about writing cds with the dvd burner, but only about writing and reading dvd disks with it. Should I get a dvd-rom also for reading them? Does it read faster?
