I am a newbie and I really need your step-by-step help with the following situtation.
I recently got married and the wedding took place in Europe. A local company created a DVD of the wedding but it seems to be encoded for some region in Europe as I cannot play it on my Sony DVD player in the US. However, I can play it OK on my computer so at least I know there's nothing wrong with the DVD itself.
Q1: What software can I use to see what region the DVD is encoded in?
What I want to do is make copies of the DVD for myself and for our families here in the US. I would like to remove the region encoding (I have no idea why it was added in the first place) so that I can make many copies for both US and Europe.
Q2: Is it possible to have a DVD that has no region encoding and will players set to a specific region (US or Europe) still play it?
Q3: Can you please walk me through the process, what software I need to remove the encoding, what software I need to copy it once the encoding is removed, etc. I do not want to lose any quality and the resulting DVD should be the same except that the region encoding is gone. I am planning on borrowing an USB external DVD burner from a friend. The easier the process and the software to use, the better
Thank you very much for your help and please excuse my basic questions. If there's a tutorial somewhere please just point me to it, I could not find it.
