Just replaced my old NEC burner (I think it was the old old 25xx model) with a brand new Optiarc AD-7200A (IDE/PATA).
I have not been successful in burning even one DVD disc since. I tried 3 different media (all of which worked find with the old NEC) and tried the stock FW (1.05), NEC's original 1.06 FW and Liggy's 1.05 bitsettting FW --- no luck.
It always fails when trying to write lead-in -- then DVDDecrypter (or Imgburn) proceeds to write as if nothing happened (and the write LED is off).
Here is a typical log file (this is with the Fuji DVD-R, RITEKF1) -- all other discs have the same error. Trying to burn a test movie from a ISO image created before (this image has been burnt before and mounts correctly using DaemonTools)

Notice the ridiculously fast "verify" speed (just 32 secs, 100x+) --the disc has nothing on it ..... just probably some sort of header since that disc is not usable anymore.
HELP please !!!
Is this a bum drive ??? I have only limited time to get a replacement.
