Help Needed!-NEC DVD Burner firmware update

Hello,

I am an newbie here and I am having a bear of a time with my DVD Burner.
I have a NEC DVD+RW ND-2100AD drive on my pc. The drive was burning DVD’s fine until I upgraded from Windows XP Home to Windows XP Pro. Now it will no longer burn DVD’s. My guess is that the firmware needed to be updated. The problem is I don’t know how to update the firmware. I downloaded binflash for Windows (GUI) but I do not no how to locate the file that needs to be updated. If there is anyone out there that can point me in the right direction regarding getting my burner working again I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
Newbie

Go to http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=23 and download the firmware for your dvd drive. Just run the file… :flower:

I think you need version 1.92…

OR… (   TDB)
2100A to 2500A, Allows burning of -R media. Supplied as a binary. This is the 2500A 1.06 firmware patched to work on a 2100A, and includes RPC1 and Rip Lock patch. 2100 @ 2500 1.06

The firmware might need an update, but this has nothing to do with the problem you encounter now. If the drive could burn shortly before the windows update and you still use the same DVD disks for burning, your problem has nothing to do with the firmware or the drive.
How did you burn DVDs before your update ? Describe exactly the problem you see now.

The drive burns although it only burns cd’s.
