Help! My 4163B can't read self-burned Verbatim 16x DVD-R (MCC 03RG20) media!

I have a following problem with my LG GSA-4163B (bulk) firmware A106

When i want to verify in nero (or just copy the cd in Total Commander) my burned on the same drive the Verbatim’s DVD-R 16x media (the code is MCC 03RG20), i receive a read errors ~ after passing the 50% of reading. I’ve tried already 5-6 discs from two spindle boxes (from 10pcs and 25pcs Verbatim boxes), tried to use Nero, and to vary the burn speeds form 4x to 16x -the same stupid results. The same read erros i receive when trying to read the discs in my Sony DDU1615 DVD-ROM drive.

I haven’t problems in past with 8x DVD-R Verbatim media, but unfortuanately there are not available in market :frowning:

I 've opened the A106 (my current firmware) with MCSE and found there corresponding write strategies for MCC 03RG20 - 16x, 12x, 8x and 4x. And same string is in old firmware - A105. So what you think, is the downgrading to ver A105 firmware and trying to burn again these problem media a wright idea ?

please help me.waiting for answers…

Did u always burn the same image/copy the same disc?

2> Wischmop: yes, i have tried to burn same data (cd image or just data, doesn’t matter) on many Vebatim DVD-R 16x discs, burn at 4x, 8x, 16x - the same bad results i get. :frowning:
So it doesn’t matter what i am burning - cd-image or just data.

please advise me what to do? maybe try to use Verbatim 16x DVD+R discs? but i always loved the “-R” standart. And it is important sometimes for me, that in “+R” format i have a 6mb smaller space for recording - DVD -R = 4489mb and DVD+R =4483mb , sometimes that damn 6mb it is critical for me.

On other discs such a Dysan 16x DVD-R and TDK DVD-R 16x (don;t rememeber their mediacodes now, can check lately at home) i haven;t any such problems
